German: A is the registered trademark for cycle components marketed by GERMAN ANSWER bike technology GmbH & Co KG located in Woelfersheim, about 35km north of Frankfurt/Main. Our company is well established in the field of suspension components for sports and high-end bikes, particularly light-weight and air-spring hydraulic systems.

Our story:
At the end of the year 1993 we found inspiration during discussions with
BMW for the development of a foldable bicycle that led to the idea for a
suspension system with integrated drive for bicycles.
In 1994 the first prototypes of the suspension system were built, in
larger volumes production and marketing started in cooperation with
RS-Bikes
1995 German Answer, our company, was officially registered. The concept of frear suspension with integrated drive went through further stages of development and was marketed. This strategy went on well into the year 2000.
The "Durango" bike was based on the integrated drive concept and became one of the lightest full suspension bikes (less than 10 kg) with everyday usability on the market.
Further ambitious models with refined in function, weight and design followed.
At the same time we realized that there were very few high end rear shock absorbers for full suspension frames on the market. So we started develop and sale products in this discipline.
1996 We presented the innovative microcellular polyurethane spring and oil damped rear suspension s y s tem "Morphos" . Superior test results achieved by bike magazines "tour" and "bike sport news" wer e published 1996/1997. The microcellular polyurethane "Cellasto" used then is still proven and in use in the automotive industry.
1998 We decided to expand our development to suspension forks for bicycles.
2000 Spring and damping units became our main business. One result was the LRS rear suspension for one of the worldwide largest bike manufacturers "Merida" and their German partner "MCG GmbH" (Merida & Centurion Germany).
2001 Marks the starting point of the development of a front suspension concept based on the research of Dr. Eric Groß Following the recommendations of his dissertation a multi-link fork was designed.
2003 The new trapezoidtype fork "GA-force kilo" was ready for marketing. At that time this was the lightest fork on the market and became a popular product especially for the XC- and marathon participants, since the technical advantages are most desirable in these areas of application.
Today we mostly develop, produce and market bike components, but we are also a well known source formechatronic specialties such as components and systems for artificial limbs, testing equipment and other mechatronic hydraulic systems.
In 2004 some details in kinematics of the GAforce kilo have been optimized. The new version was used in different race classes (24- hour race, Marathon, Cross Country, Transalp) and instantly led to victories, proving its qualities.
2005 is the year where our next “coup†was introduced to the public: Trail Tronic, the first electronically controlled suspension system. Additionally we introduced the first prototypes of the GA-force kilo 0.9: This new evolutionary stage has a steerer Tube and complete lower structure made from carbon fibre.
German Answer GmbH & Co. KG shall continue the involvment in innovative techniques rather than working along conventional lines. Close cooperation with technical institutions and universities allow us to offer appropriate research and development as a service to our customers.
